The FBI
just released their statistics for the first six months of
2006-not looking good!
Compared
to the same period from last year violent crime is up 3.7%
making it one of the largest increase in recent memory. Law
enforcement officials blamed the increase on gangs(some
illegal aliens), drugs, and ex convicts. The components with
the largest increase were homicide, robbery and aggravated
assault.
If there
was a bright light in the report it was that property
crimes, including burglary, decreased
2.6%.
The moral
of the story is that it is more dangerous than ever out
there. Prisons are overflowing, crime is up-What else can I
say? Law enforcement officials are almost overwhelmed. It is
up to each of us to do our part in protecting ourselves, our
